Reasons Why I Might Need More Gaming Friends

As you may know GamesCom is on at the moment and a few games have had new trailers released. My favourite so far is the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker trailer which finally details how the Co op will work in the game. It looks pretty well done with the ability to highlight targets for other players, a humorous way of reviving your comrades and the ability to follow your partner.

Whilst this is all good it would require three other people to have the game and be willing to play. Therefore whilst this does look good I hope it doesn't damage the single player game as Resident Evil 5 proved, it might not be as fun without another person. The threat ring and over the shoulder camera seem to be inherited from MGS4 and the interface has changed a bit from Portable Ops.

Apart from the co-op to single player concern, I am worried it looks a bit too similar to Portable Ops, whilst being a good game was not the best of the series. Check out the trailer and see some staggering graphics for the PSP.

The second reason why I need more gaming friends is Final Fantasy XIV which was also shown today at GamesCom. Seems the combat hasn't differed much from XI but seems to now have a lock on feature. It is surprising how far this game is in development if it can be playable at GamesCom. Fortunately for loners such as myself it seems the game will be less focused on parties unlike XI. It is looking good so far though.A good start to GamesCom so far updates will come throughout the week.
