Top 5 Most Embarrassing Scenes in Video Games

We all love video games at Just a day, however sometimes there can be some scenes in our favourite games which make even us cringe. So below is a list of scenes which are just plain embarrassing no matter how good the game is.

5. Genji 2's Demo at E3 2006

Part of Sony's terrible 2006 E3 showing for the PS3 was a game named Genji 2. It has received cult status for it's poor showing at the Sony Keynote. Being touted as a game which accurately recreates history, it seemed to completely contradict itself by showing a giant enemy crab. On top of this, the guy who did the demo came out with some classic quotes such as "Massive Damage!" and quite frankly, this is possibly some of the worst PR a game could of got. It was embarrassing.

4. Resident Evil 1's Cutscenes in General

Whilst the voice acting in Resident Evil 1 is now considered a classic in comedy, it must also be remembered that it is pretty terrible. The lines seem to have just been read off the sheet by the actor or done in one take as they seem way over the top even for a cliched horror game. At the time this sort of acting would have been pretty embarrassing compared to the world of film, so it's pretty good that voice acting has improved in the industry. Saying this, the voice acting is an iconic part of Resi 1 now and provides a good bunch of laughs when you play through it again.

3. Laughing Scene - Final Fantasy X

You can sense that the point of this scene was to provide a bit of comic relief in the game, amidst the troubles going in the world. This scene might work in the Japanese version, however in the English version it seems to highlight some bad voice acting. The scene involves Yuna trying to tell Tidus to laugh when times get tough and we are then presented with the infamous line of "HA, HA, HA". Even the characters in the game insult Tidus.

2. Otacon's Revelation - Metal Gear Solid 2

MGS2 is an awesome game don't get me wrong, but this scene should have been cut from the game, it is just not needed. Around the time Otacon's sister dies in the game, Otacon reveals that he had an affair with his step mother, which is slightly weird. This prompts an entire monologue of how he regrets it and concludes it led to his fathers demise, it is completely out of the blue and pretty embarrassing for everyone involved. This cutscene out of all the ones in MGS makes me cringe the most as it only creeps out the player and gives a little background to a minor part of the story.

It was even used as ammunition by the Just a Day Haters several years back.

1. Sonic's Love Affair With a Human Princess - Sonic the Hedgehog

I must emphasize this is the new Sonic the Hedgehog game released for 360 and PS3, you did not miss this from the Mega Drive game. Basically in the game Sonic (a Hedgehog) attempts to save the princess (a Human) from the clutches of Robotnik. The cutscenes throughout the game seem to suggest that perhaps our favourite Hedgehog and this lady are interested in more than friendship.

Frankly this is just wrong and very embarrassing and frankly it's just wrong a Hedgehog having a relationship with a human, it's not the message to teach kids. Plus Sonic can't get a girlfriend who isn't Amy as that's just wrong.
